I have been meaning to do a post like this for a while now, but I just haven’t had the time to fit it in with my other blog posts. For the past few days, I have been feeling very unwell with an unexpected cold. It is making me feel drained, lack of motivation and in a lot of pain. Because of this, I haven’t published a post this week. So, I am going to take this time to give you all a little update about what’s been going on in Bryoni’s life. I figured that this might be a good way for you to get to know me a little bit more.
Over the past few months, I have been working loads as a Sales Assistant for Jack Wills. I absolutely love it! I enjoy working with everyone as they are all so friendly which makes my time there very pleasant. I have been doing a lot of overtime, partly to keep me busy as well as earn a bit more money to be able to pay for a new PC. I have been wanting a new one for a few months now as mine is very slow and not functioning properly. I thought that if I work as much as I can, I will be able to treat myself. It will help me a lot with my studies, as well as helping me to pursue my photography career.
Alongside this, I have been building up my photography portfolio and experience by taking on a range of photo shoots to suit the clients’ choices. These shoots have all contributed towards my experience as well as my brand new photography website that I am in the process of creating. As you probably know from reading my blog, I have a huge passion and interest in photography and I would like to pursue it. Last Saturday, I was given the opportunity to be a professional photographer’s second shooter at a wedding in Basingstoke. Although, this was a small casual wedding I was very nervous and delighted (at the same time) to be given this opportunity. I have been wanting to photograph weddings for a few months now and I have found it very challenging to find roles available for second shooters. Within the coming months, I will be pushing myself to photograph more events such as; weddings, fayres and cooperate events. My website will be updated regularly with all the latest shoots.
My social media is changing drastically. I mean… seriously, I don’t even know what I am doing with it. I have been trying to create a theme on my Instagram account, but it’s not going to plan. I am going to be spending a lot of time ensuring that my social media is up to standards. With being ill recently, I do feel like I have neglected Instagram and Twitter a lot. I am going to be creating more of an autumnal vibe in my photos by making it nice to look at. I have started to do this already which is why I thought I would share this with you as I would love to hear your feedback. I am not great with using social media as I go through phases of using it frequently and then not using it at all. I promise I will keep my social media up to date with new photos every week.
In 4 days time, I will be going into my second year at university. I never thought I would be saying that. But I am… I MADE IT! I am looking forward to studying again as well as getting into a proper routine. It’s definitely going to be challenging fitting in my studies with working part-time, photographing, blogging and as well as attending the social events within societies. As soon as I receive my timetable, I will be writing everything in my diary. I want to be very organised and prepared for this year. I am hoping to just get all my revision done on the days I attend university and then on my 5 days off; I can either work or enjoy myself. I have decided that I will be writing down lecture notes in my notebook and then typing them up alongside the lecturer’s powerpoint. I found this very useful last year as I was able to go back over the notes and fully understand what was being taught. It helped me to remember and familiarise myself with the information. This year I really want to try hard to get the best grades possible.
Am I ready for university?…. We shall soon see.
