Hello, how are you today? It is so lovely that the sun is finally here in the U.K. It makes me so happy because it means now I can now write my blogs outside in the beautiful sunshine which I love very much. This blog post is something that I have been urging to write for the past week now, but I have been waiting for the sun to come out to take some lovely photos for you. As you probably know, the U.K. recently has been having a lot of snow and rain, so I was hoping it would clear for the day I needed to write this… and it did which is brilliant!
Fortunately, a couple weeks ago I received an email from Rahil Verma who is a Senior Content Manager at Folsom & Co. who proposed an offer for me to review one of their new watches free of charge. As you can imagine I was over the moon about this. It is not often I get an email from a company wanting me to review one of their products, so without a doubt, I decided to accept the offer. I did ask if there was any terms and conditions with this proposal as I have never heard of this company, so I thought it would be a good idea to ask. Luckily, they were happy to send me a sample watch completely free with no charges as long as I published a review which I would love to do.
Personally, I think it is very important for you to do a little bit of research into a company, especially if you have never heard of them before. This is so that you are aware of what you are about to receive or whether or not they are legit and if it is a product that you feel happy talking about. For me, this was no problem at all! I had a look at the watches that I wanted to review and chose the one that was more my style which I then requested for delivery. The next part was simple… just wait for the product to arrive. This took a couple of days which was exceptional considering I did not pay for a delivery cost.
Overview of the product:
Below is a screenshot of what the website page looks like right now selling the exact same watch which was sent to me. I can see that it is £0.00 with a limited time offer and all you are needing to pay is a small delivery charge. I will be talking in this post about my experience trying the Alexandria Watch and whether or not it is worth it.
Originally £42.00, but for a Limited Time Only Offer £0.00
Folsom & Co. says BEST SELLER: THE CONTEMPORARY WATCH
- Contemporary style with this sleek timepiece
- Classic mesh strap and 40mm dial diameter
- Minimalist brushed stainless steel crafted to perfection

I wanted to make sure that I knew exactly what was being sent to me so that I could give an honest review. This is important because it is good for people to know whether or not what is being shown on the screen is what it says it is when it’s delivered in the post. I was very shocked at the number of great offers being shown on the website which is why if the review was to go well, I would definitely be back on doing my own shopping because it is very good value. I do think that a website like this can be a bit intimidating or worrying because they are offering products free and all you have to do is pay for delivery. I think you should look at reviews about whether or not the product is worth the delivery price.
What did I receive?
Without knowing exactly what the parcel would look that I was receiving, I just guessed it was this grey packaged parcel as nothing else was being sent to me that day. In the images below, I will be showing you the process of me opening the parcel, my first impressions and how the watch fits and suits me with my everyday fashion. If you have any questions at any point, please don’t forget to comment as I would love to be able to answer them and advise you the best I can.
In the post, this small grey packaged bag came which I guessed would be the product I was about to receive from Folsom & Co. I thought that it would arrive in some sort of box as it is a watch which is why after receiving this I thought that it wouldn’t be exactly what the picture was showing. However, I thought to myself that I shouldn’t judge the product based on the packaging because I do not know what is inside.
Once I opened the package, I noticed that it was wrapped in polystyrene and in a clear sealed packet. This did change my perspective of the product as it came apparent to me that not all watches need to be in boxes. This was clearly appropriate for the design of watch that I had received and the packaging was carefully put in place which caused no damage to the watch. The product was not broken at all and is in full working order. However, what I did notice is that originally the price is £42.00 and for that price, I do expect something this fragile to come in a box. I have had parcels before which have not arrived in full working order, so I was slightly worried if it would work. It would not cost much extra to send and it looks more presentable, giving you somewhere to put it on days you do not want to wear a watch. As this was completely free for me and I did not have to pay anything I was not bothered. On the other hand, if I paid £42.00 plus delivery I may have expected a little bit more based on what great watches you can purchase in high-street shops with a similar price and with better presentation.
WOW!!! I thought this watch was absolutely sensational. It is beautiful! I love the Rose Gold colour so much. It is definitely the colour I would have chosen, regardless if it was free or if I was going to purchase a watch as it looks great. It looks exactly the same as what was being offered online which of course is something to mention when doing a review because that is what’s important. Personally, I think that it is a very fashionable and contemporary watch that I will be wearing on many different occasions; whether on a night out or if I am needing to dress up smart because this will add and complement accessories perfectly.
The watch is made out of steel which gives it a slightly heavy feel, but I don’t think it is a bad thing. I really like the idea of having a bit of weight on a watch as it feels a lot better and I prefer wearing one with that feature. The watch is in full working order which is sealed with a white cap. Once that cap is taken off you are able to set the dial and the watch begins to work. Unfortunately, I have had this watch for 2 days now and I am unable to state exactly how long the batteries last as mine is still working.
I really like how easy the watch is to adjust. You can bend the watch to fit your wrist suitable for to your preference. I am unsure whether or not this is supposed to be like that, but I actually like the idea of having to bend the watch yourself. It is better for fitting purposes. I think this watch is very good for the value. I think the watch size is very good and when I tried it on, it fits me PERFECTLY! I can not fault the sizing of this watch as it fits me absolutely fine and still with plenty of room if for any reason my wrist got bigger or smaller. I think the watch is a really good size in terms of the dial as well as the strap. It doesn’t look oversized or too small and looks great in proportion to my hand and body.
I would definitely wear this watch out on a daily basis. It is really comfortable to wear, looks astonishing and is very stylish and fashionable, especially for someone in the similar age group to me and is looking for something affordable. I think this watch can be worn for many different reasons and styles. I would wear this for many occasions, such as a night out, a day at the beach, casual walk, looking sophisticated or doing a presentation e.g. Job Interview or Teaching.
In my opinion, I think that you should get yourself one of these watches while they are free because they really are beautiful. I feel so blessed that Folsom & Co. were able to send me one free of charge to review because I would have never heard of this company and what they have to offer. I know there are many reviews positive and negative on the internet, but until you try a product you will never know whether it is worth it or not. I am looking forward to wearing this new watch and showing it off to all my friends and family.
I have read many reviews of this watch online which I think is beneficial for all do when purchasing anything and a majority of the reviews are negative. I don’t disagree with what is being said because I am not an expert in this field and all I am required to do is to give an honest opinion on the product I received. However, I think that the watch is amazing for being free, it is lovely and beautiful, it works and fits perfectly. There are no faults with the watch itself yet, except I think the parcel packaging should be better.
At the moment the website sells the watch free of charge, but there is a small delivery price. I am under the impression that the price changes dependant on where you are located because the reviews I have read online did not match the price my laptop was showing. To see if this watch was really free, I wanted to try to purchase one and see if there is an added cost. When I did try, the watch appeared free but there was a delivery charge of $11.25 which when converted into pounds is £8.40. I would definitely purchase from this website because the watch I received was honestly beautiful and I think it would pay that price for it. I wouldn’t personally pay £42.00 plus delivery without seeing in person first, however, I believe I can trust this website for future products at a cheap price. The question you have to ask yourself if whether or not this ‘free’ watch is worth £8.40. I will let you make the decision for yourself whether or not this is good company because I would not want to be biased.
Thank you so much to Rahil Verma from Folsom & Co. who introduced me to the products available and this company. I look forward to trying and reviewing more of your products. Don’t forget to leave any comments or feedback below as I would love to get in contact with you. I hope you have a lovely day!
