AD | Green People Organic Lifestyle Sun Care.

For those of who you don’t know, I have just got back from the beautiful sunny Barcelona and this is just everything that I needed.  This post is in collaboration with Green People.

**All criticism is my own and I can hands down say that I am being 100% honest when talking about these products**

What Is Green People?

Green People is an organic beauty brand with quality at heart since 2002. Green People’s passion for natural and organic skincare is based on the concept of ‘Phyto Science’ – plant performance without compromise.

Green People offers high-performance products and believes that nature and science go hand in hand. Green People organic skincare products restore and balance the skin and hair’s natural moisture levels with amazing skin feel, whilst also caring about environmental issues and sustainability.

All of their products are vegan and 100% cruelty-free. As well as that, 10% of net profit is donated to charity.

What Products Will I Be Reviewing?

I was lucky enough to receive two full-size bottles from the Green People’s sun care range. One being the EDELWEISS SUN LOTION which is a NATURAL TAN ACCELERATOR and the SCENT FREE SUN LOTION which is REEF SAFE OCEAN-FRIENDLY.

The Scent Free Sun Lotion is reef safe, ocean-friendly, non-irritating, non-greasy, 84% organic, and water repellent with an SPF of 30 high. This sun cream is perfect for sensitive skin and is UVB and UVA protected, just like the other one. It is designed to care for sensitive skin and is naturally free from synthetic fragrance and essential oils. This bottle is priced at £22.50.

I only used this suncare lotion on day 1 of my 5-day holiday. This isn’t because it was bad in any way, I just preferred using the natural tan accelerator as I wanted to get an even glow. I thought this one slightly more liquidized which rubbed in smoother and more evenly than the other one. It is 100% scent-free as I cannot smell any scent. If I had to describe a smell, I would describe it as a similar smell to dermal cream. It is still fresh but in a different way. I would recommend using this one if you are exposed to the sun a lot or are spending days directly in the heat, in a pool, or sunbathing. It has a relatively high SPF and would protect those areas which needed it most. I put some of this one on my forehead, shoulders, and elbows as those are the places which get burnt fastest usually, and also, I have eczema on my elbows, and this helped it a lot.

The Natural Tan Accelerator is non-irritating, non-greasy, 86% organic, and water repellent. It has an SPF of 15 medium and is perfect for sensitive skin. It has UVA and UVB, also known as aging and burning protection. This natural tan accelerator speeds up the tanning process by 25% and reduces fading by 50%. This bottle is priced at £21.50.

I absolutely loved using this product and out of the two, this one is my favorite. I found it was very hydrating, non-sticky, and enhanced a natural-looking tan. I LOVE the smell of this sun cream as it smells so fresh, almost like flowers which I like. I used this one 4/5 days of my holiday and I do believe that even know I had sun cream on, I still managed to get an even coverage of a tan. It did not leave any stains on my clothing, and I applied this approximately 3 times a day. More importantly, when I got out of the pool. I can now say hand on my heart that I will be using this self-tanning sun care in the future.

The Body Shop Blogger Event June 2019 | #tbswinchester #plasticwithbottles #gifted

I had a wonderful time at The Body Shop Blogger Event this evening at the Winchester store (#tbswinchester #plasticwithbottles). I was kindly welcomed by the staff (Sian and Georgio) and introduced to the brand. We were provided with beverages from Whittard and some cakes and crisps which were a thoughtful thing to do.

I enjoyed hearing about the 3 new products (Coffee Face Mask, Banana Body Yoghurt, and Ginger Shower Gel). As well as that, I was informed about the incredible projects The Body Shop are trying out which includes using already made plastics and re-using them and using the fruit and veg that are unwanted.

In addition, The Body Shop has introduced a new scheme that involves customers/anyone to recycle their finished bottles, which can be anything except perfume bottles. If customers bring back 5 used bottles they will be rewarded with a free £5 to spend voucher in The Body Shop which is just amazing. Not only all of this, But The Body Shop in Winchester are also working with Winchester Basic Banks to encourage customers and staff to bring in any unused products, foods, drinks, clothes, etc. anything you can to help those who need it most. I thought this was just absolutely wonderful and I am looking forward to contributing anything that I can to help.

After this, we were able to try out any products that we wanted, ask for samples and any advice followed by making a purchase if we wanted with 25% off. As you all know, I LOVE The Body Shop so much so there was a lot in my basket. Surprisingly, I only purchased 6 items which were: The Camomile Eye Make-Up Remover £7.50, Vitamin E Hydrating Toner £8.00, Setting Spray for Make-Up £8.00, Nail File £2.50, Cotton Pads £2.50, and a Coconut Hand Gel £2.50. The grand total of this was only £23.25. I saved a total of £7.75 which is fantastic. A majority of what I purchased is just a top-up, although the nail file and coconut hand gel are a first for me to try. I have previously written about my Skin Care Routine which can be found here.

Here is a photo of everything that I purchased:

As if that isn’t enough, once I had finished paying I was automatically given a GOODY BAG #gifted by The Body Shop and put into an Instagram lucky dip which will be revealed next week. We also played a couple of games where we had to pick out a smiley face out of a bag in order to win a face mask of your choice. I absolutely loved this and guess what I WON! I even had to guess the name of an animal in a photo, I picked WALLIS – SO LET’S HOPE I WIN AT THAT TOO! That is pretty much what happened tonight at The Body Shop Blogger Event in Winchester. I had a lovely time, learned so much about the products, and I can’t wait to give everything a try in the next few weeks.

Here is everything that I was #gifted inside the GOODY BAG:

Thank you so much for all of these amazing products, I am so grateful for everything and I had a wonderful evening.

Here is my latest YouTube video telling you all about the products (in the style of ASMR):

I have something amazing to share with you and I think you are all going to love it. I have been getting messages recently from a few of you asking for a make-up routine, more specifically the make-up routine that I am using on a daily basis.

I have decided to create a video, primarily to complement the process so you can see a step-by-step guide of what I am doing. I have also included the Q&A polls from my Instagram and Twitter, so if you asked a question then it will be answered in the video. In addition, I have added in some FUN FACTS, along with a little chat. All of the products I have used can be found in the video itself, plus I will tag them below and they will also be tagged in the description box of the video too.

What products have I used?

  1. Moisturiser
  2. Foundation
  3. Contour set
  4. Eye-brow kit
  5. Setting Spray
  6. Face Mist
  7. Mascara

This is a very easy, simple, and fresh make-up look which I wear a majority of the time. I am not the best at make-up, so this works wonders for me. I prefer having my make-up quite subtle, and this feels amazing on the skin as it isn’t too heavy. This is definitely a look that I will be wearing for many times to come or a look that I will use as a basis for all looks.

Check out the video and let me know what you think in the comments:

Thank you so so much for checking out this blog post and I hope that you enjoyed the little video I have created for you. If you would like me to do any particular blog post/youtube video, please comment them below and I will add it to my list.

The Body Shop VIP Exclusive Evening Haul || Winchester Store

I’ve been needing an evening like this for a very long time…

As a regular customer at The Body Shop, I was kindly invited to an exclusive VIP evening to try products, ask for advice from the experts or book an appointment for a skincare and/or make-up consultation. Recently, I have been meaning to treat myself to a luxury moisturiser and body lotion. My skin has been feeling dull and dry, so I am rather pleased with the outcome of this evening. Tonight was my opportunity to book myself in for a skincare consultation to find out what skin type I have, in terms of sensitivity, dryness or oiled.

The staff were welcoming and approachable from the set go by introducing themselves personally and informing me of their new screen that prints off a name sticker. I thought this was such a great idea for when you were spoken to as you were mentioned by your name which made the overall experience a lot more personal. I was very impressed with the layout of the store as it is was clean/tidy, easy to navigate and everything looked beautiful in its place.

Fortunately for me, I was able to get a 1-to-1 consultation with their skincare expert to discuss with me the types of products I should be using on my skin to improve my moisture and hydration. I was very impressed with the consultation as I was able to talk about what products I already use, which ones I should change to and also try them on my skin so I can try them before I buy them. I really liked how knowledgeable the expert was as she was able to answer all my questions and inform me about my health and skincare as well as the products. The three products that I tried and stood out most to me where: The Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil, The Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash and The Vitamin E Hydrating Toner. I was advised to use The Camomile Silky Cleansing oil to wash my makeup off with followed by The Gentle Facial Wash which leaves the skin feeling clean, soft and refreshed. After I have applied those two, I should then apply The Hydrating Toner which removes unwanted oils and leftover makeup leaving the skin feeling fresh and hydrated for up to 24 hours.

The next two purchases I decided to get was The Almond Milk & Honey Bath Milk which is something I’ve been looking at for a while now. It is a soothing smooth liquid based body wash that ‘gently cleanses, soothes and reduces the sensation of tight, itchy dry skin’. This just sounds like something I will enjoy very much. I like how the bottle looks like a milk carton and I find it very cute. I’m looking forward to trying this very soon. Along with this, I purchased The Almon Milk & Honey Body Lotion to complement the bath milk as it’s the same scent that soothes itchy dry skin. I love the smell of these two and I think it’s amazing how the moisture lasts for 48 hours… like that’s incredible! I have never tried bath milk or body lotion from The Body Shop before, so I am very excited to try these for the first time.

Just when you thought I was done with my purchases, I am about to sneak another one in there. I decided to buy myself one of their pre-made gift sets which included The White Musk Shower Gel and The White Musk Fragrance Mist. It was pretty obvious that I had only purchased specific products for my face and for my body, so I am pleased with myself for getting a perfume as well. I have been talking to Kevin for the past few days now saying that I needed to get a new perfume and conveniently enough I remembered I needed one and got my favourite one from The Body Shop. The reason why I got the matching shower gel was that they came in a set which was £10 for both products and the perfume alone is £8.50, so it made sense to do that. Luckily for me, as I am a regular customer I had a £5.00 off voucher that I was able to use, so I got this beautiful set for just £5.00.

Now it’s time for my favourite part of the whole evening which was receiving FREE gifts. I’m totally kidding!!!! The whole evening was just amazing and so thoughtfully planned out. I always love getting freebies, especially from a brand that I speak highly of as it just shows that they respect and value their customers by showing a little appreciation of their loyalty. Here is what I received:

FREE = £25.50 (FULL PRICE = £63.00 with a discount of 30% applied and 3 for 2 deal applied = £39.45)

Overall, I am very pleased with all my purchases and free gifts I received this evening it worked out that individually the total sum was £88.50 and I paid an incredible price of £39.45. I would like to say a big mention to the store manager, Emma, who was exceptional. Thank you so much to The Body Shop for inviting me to their exclusive VIP evening. It’s been OUTSTANDING!

Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled and stay active on social media. I will be posting a follow-up post within the next week about trying all these brand new products.

Which of these products do you use?

Skincare Routine: My Top Picks

Trying new skincare products is probably one of my most favourite things to do when it comes to self-care. It’s such a great feeling when you try a new skincare product and totally fall in love with it. A couple of weeks ago, I attended a VIP Body Shop Event where I was informed about my skin type (sadly it’s dry and dehydrated). From receiving these results, I have changed my skincare routine as well as kept myself hydrated throughout the day. I am very pleased with myself for purchasing these new skincare products from The Body Shop as they have massively helped my skin to feel and look much better.

So, here are my favourite skincare products that I have been loving these past few weeks.

Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil

I can’t believe I waited this long to try the Camomile Cleansing Oil. It is definitely the best makeup remover I have ever used. If you’re after something that is very quick and efficient at removing makeup then this will be perfect for you. I would typically use this product after I have used a cotton pad to wet my face. I recommend applying a small amount of the oil onto a cotton pad and then begin to wipe away the makeup. The instant results I receive are incredible. I highly recommend this makeup remover as it removes all makeup, it smells great and it’s perfect for sensitive dry skin. The thing I love most is that a small amount goes a very long way.

Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash

After I have taken my makeup off, I would use the Vitamin E Facial Wash. It is so soft and soothing… I absolutely love it! The best thing about this product is that it really is GENTLE. I really like how true this product is. This is definitely perfect for anyone with sensitive dry skin. Honestly, it’s so soft. It will leave your skin feeling smooth, clean and refreshed. ALSO… it smells great! I recommend applying this product with wet hands as it is just a moisturising face wash which needs to be applied well all over the face. You will only need a tiny bit of this on your hands as a thin layer is just the right amount.

Vitamin E Hydrating Toner

WOW!!! This product is definitely my favourite which is why I have saved the best till last. It definitely does the job it’s supposed to! I have been using this product for about 2 weeks now and I can already see the difference between using the product and not using the product on my skin. I have never used a hydrating toner before and until 2 weeks ago I had no idea what it was. I am so happy with the results that I actually use this product twice a day. I always use this product after the facial wash, once all my makeup has been removed as well as using the product every morning when I clean my face. The best way to apply the hydrating toner is onto a cotton pad. You will only need a few drops of this because again a small amount goes a long way.

I am very thankful for my Body Shop consultation as I would have never got any of these products. If you are unsure of what type of skin you have, I highly recommend getting a consultation to find out. I had been searching for years to find the perfect skincare routine and finally, now I can say that I have found the perfect skincare routine that works for me as well as keeps my skin feeling clean, clear and well hydrated.

What are your favourite skincare products? Have you used these ones before?
