SUMMER HOLIDAY HAUL 2019 | New Clothes, Travel Accessories & FRIENDS Collaboration.

A couple of days ago, I decided to take a little adventure to Festival Place in Basingstoke for a little shopping spree. I’m sure you know this already, but in 3 weeks I will be heading to Barcelona. As you know from previous holidays, I absolutely love wearing new clothes and treating myself throughout the whole holiday. So of course, I was going to go shopping and buy some new bits. I only purchased things from New Look, Primark, Schuh, and Wilkinson’s – so it’s not a lot really!

Primark

I absolutely love going shopping in Primark. I think their quality of clothing is spot on for the prices they are charging, even better if they are bought in the sale. I normally try my best to hold off buying something, as usual, everything I like goes into the sale eventually. If you know Primark, then you’ll know how amazing their sales are. I decided to purchase some pajamas. I knew I wanted a short set and another nightdress, so this was pretty easy. I was so pleased to have found a FRIENDS nightdress and I LOVE FRIENDS AND I LOVE NIGHT DRESSES – IT WAS JUST PERFECT! I then found a long black t-shirt dress which just said “fearless” and some comfy lounge shorts. These are just a couple of staples which I wanted to have. I really want to wear an oversized t-shirt at the airport, just because it will be comfortable, and I think it will be perfect for the 2-hour flight that I will have. Lastly, I found some travel accessories which I just couldn’t resist. As you can see from the photo, they are just beautiful and a MUST HAVE!

New Look

I feel like there is a clear trend in the sort of things that I like to purchase or a look that I am trying to create. A majority of things that I have purchased are either the same style or color. But, then again, I LOVE IT, so I can’t complain. I kind of went into New Look with an idea in mind of what I wanted to purchase. New Look is similar to higher end shops, so you can actually get a bargain for something that would be in Topshop or River Island, except you’ll be paying like £20 cheaper.

Schuh

Again, I went into Schuh with a purpose. I went in, spoke to the lovely worker, explained what I was looking for and that was that. I tried it on and I bought it. I am pretty sure I was in Schuh for less than 3 minutes. The thing that I like about me when I am shopping is that I already have a thing in the mind of what I want. Therefore, I hardly ever just pointless shop. I prefer going to shops, getting what I need and coming straight back out.

  1. Black Checkerboard Vans £44.99

Wilkinson’s

And lastly, I went into Wilkinson’s or WILKO as some may say. I actually can’t remember the last I went here, except for today lol. I knew they do brands, except they also do low prices – so of course, I went there. I just picked up some of the travel essentials that I might need. I didn’t get everything that I needed as I still need to make a list of what I actually need. For the empty bottles, I will just put some stuff from home in there. Once, I have found out what I can and can’t take from home, then I will be heading out for a 2nd trip to get everything else.

What a month this is going to be!!!

I apologise for not posting weekly like I said I would.

I am writing this post primarily to tell you about all the wonderful things I have been up to, and all the things that I am looking forward to.

What you’ve missed?

You may or may not know, but I have finished my second year of university. I am so happy to be announcing this as it has been a big struggle for me, especially achieving the grades that I have been pushing for. I have finished first and the second year scrapping a 2:1 so I am proud of myself. I just keep saying to myself – It’s just one more year, and it will all be worth it! I will be doing a little Instagram poll soon as I want to create a YouTube video answering all of your questions about uni, adult life, and any questions you may have. So, comment a question or direct message me personally and I will add it to the list for you.

I have also been photographing a lot more. I managed to be the leading photographer of a wedding, as well as a few uni events – including summer ball 2019 with the special guest SIGALA. These past few months have been incredible. I have learnt so much and I think I have found a photography specialism which I would like to develop further. I absolutely love creating unique photo albums for all clients to treasure for eternity.

Recently, you would have seen, probably definitely you have seen if you follow me on social media or keep up with my blog posts. I wrote a post about creating a new YouTube channel that I would actually like to keep up and running, especially alongside my blog to help show in detail some of the posts that I am writing about. I mainly create content based on ASMR, lifestyle, and travel. Again, if you have any suggestion, please let me know.

What’s to come?

So, here’s to the best part… WHAT I AM LOOKING FORWARD TOOOO!!

This month is going to be filled with a lot of happiness. I am hoping to start a new job that is the same as what I am doing now, although it is higher up in the industry which will be great for my CV. I have been really focusing on things that I can do for experience. I have one year left at uni and I am so indecisive about what I want to do after.

I have been considering going travelling next June for around 2-3 months, if not longer. I have been thinking about going travelling for some time now. And, I am at the point in my life where I am worried that if I don’t do it now, then I probably won’t do it ever. I don’t want to regret not going as it is something I have always wanted to do. Of course, I would be able to go on holidays, but there is something about travelling solidly that I want to do. On my list so far, I have decided to go to Bali, Thailand, Vietnam, Sydney, Melbourne, and New Zealand. I am sure the list will definitely get longer, but that is it for now. If you have any suggestions or advice on anything at all about travelling, please please let me know as I will appreciate it greatly.

I will also be going on holiday at the end of this month to BARCELONA. I am extremely excited – to the point where I am thinking about packing my case already. I will be going there for 5 days with a group of friends. It is actually the same group of friends from when I went to Budapest last year. We have so much planned, and of course, I have planned and thought out the whole thing AGAIN! I just want this holiday to be perfect, and I want everyone to have a great time. I think I am going to be vlogging my time away. Although, I am not sure how I am going to do it. I don’t know if I want to do daily vlogs or to just do a new vlog every other day or so. I suppose it will be down to how much footage I actually manage to film.

And lastly, I have a few brands who I will be working with this month. I do want to keep it a surprise, but I thought I would give you the warning. These won’t be revealed for a few weeks yet, as things are still being discussed. I am very excited to be working alongside these businesses and I feel happy to have accepted their products to review for you. As I have said before, I will only work with the brands who I trust and support, and if I haven’t used them before, then I will give an honest review.

That’s all for today. This post is just a casual one to let you know about what is going on in the life of Bryoni. But yeah, if you have any advice or suggestions for anything that I have spoken about, then please please please drop me a comment.

Thank you.

5 Reasons Why I Love To Travel and You Might Too.

“A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving”

img_0070As I am sure you are aware, I absolutely love travelling, exploring, and adventuring. I have a very busy lifetsyle, but always make sure I have time to do what I love most. I am an aspiring full-time traveller, who is determined to see the whole world. I have been to 6 countries and YES I am planning on travelling to a few more this year, and many more the following year. I want to be a traveller, not a tourist.

Here are the reasons of why I love to travel:

1. Meeting new people

Don’t be afraid to travel because of the unknown of meeting new people in places that you have never been to before. I absolutely love going to new places, primarily to meet new people. It is a great way to make new friends and to discuss about the place you have visited, perhaps for advice or even for help if you need it.

2. Trying new food

I am going to be completely honest, as I knew a few of you are probably thinking this, but considering I am fussy with food, as well as being a vegetarian, I love to try new foods in other countries. Whenever I go travelling, I aim to live my life how exactly the people in that culture would live their life on a daily basis. Obviously, I will not eat meat or eat the foods which I know I can’t have, but I will try my best to to live in that culture. When I go on holiday, I want it to be a whole new experience from start to finish.

3. Spontaneous Adventures

There is nothing I like better than taking a complete spontanous adventure. I like to just go with the flow and to see where I would end up. For me, being spontanous is doing something or going somewhere that is completely out of my comfort zone, or just something that I have not done before. If you haven’t figured out already, I love to just do things that are completely new to me. I don’t want to live my life doing the same thing every day, not that there is anything wrong with that, but I just want to do something different every day.

4. Transport

I didn’t actually think that this would be a reason, but it is. Every holiday that I have been on so far, there have been new types of ‘main’ public transport. By that, I mean they have transport that isn’t a car or train, like there is in the U.K. When I went to Amsterdam, the main type of public transport were bicycles. I kid you not there were more bicyles than people, which is probably why it’s named bike town. When I went to Budapest, the main type of public transport were trams or the metro as they called it. Most of them were above ground, although some of them were underground. I really enjoy trying out new public transport as I find it exciting and an adventure in itself.

5. Share your experiences

There is nothing better than travelling with friends, or someone you love. It is an incredible moment going travelling, trying something new, and having a great time. You can create some amazing memories and have probably one of the best times of your life. I usually create most of the best memories on holiday because anywhere you visit, it is so different to the U.K. which makes it inevitable.

Why do you love to travel?

10 Reasons Why You Should Travel To The Philippines.

Visiting the Philippines is something that I will never forget for many reasons. In April 2017, I had an amazing opportunity to travel to the Philippines, with Kevin to meet a majority of his family for 3 whole weeks. Of course, there was plenty of exploring, adventurous outings and a lot of relaxation; as it was still a holiday. Unfortunately, looking back at the photographs, it appeared that I did not take many, nor are the ones that I took are any good of quality. I don’t want to go into too much detail about what I did when I was there. If you want that then comment below and I will save it for another post.

In this post, I will be giving you a simple breakdown of my favourite reasons as to why you should visit the Philippines. In my opinion, I think that being given the opportunity to travel somewhere and experiencing another culture is the most amazing thing and you should really take something from it. IF YOU CAN… DO IT!

Baluarte (Vigan) – Mini Zoo and museum

One of my top reasons, as to why I recommend visiting the Philippines, is that everyone is so friendly. There was not at any point a moment where I felt like I wasn’t being treated fairly or that anyone was rude to me. Everyone who I had came into contact with were genuienly really nice. I had a rather pleasant stay and thought it was lovely how there was no language barrier. It’s not that I expected people to be rude, but I recognized straight away how nice everyone was, despite me feeling nervous/worried in another country and I think that is something that I will always remember. I had never been this far away from home before, so it really meant a lot to me and I appreciated it a lot. Plus, it is a cheap place to visit, not including the flight, but in general for the activities and food etc,. It’s very good value for money!

Beaches & Tourist Attractions

There are many many beautiful beaches and tourist attractions in the Philippines. I am sure you have seen those photographs of the most beautiful, calm and clear beaches… well imagine loads of those. That’s exactly what it is like!

During my time, I mainly stayed in Manila. Although, that was a city so we did have to travel to all the beautiful beaches. As you can see from the image below, their beaches are clear, stunning and just look completely peaceful. I really enjoyed visiting the beaches there as they just look so stunning and clean which is a completely different atmosphere compared to the UK. I 100% recommend these places, if you’re looking for places to visit during your stay.

Beaches

  • Vigan
  • Boracay

Vigan – city, and province of locus Sur, Philippines.

Below are a list of tourist attractions and places that I was fortunate enough to visit:

Tourist attractions

  • Woodland Adventures – climbing mountains
  • Pottery making
  • Baluarte – mini zoo, museum, large sign (perfect for photos)
  • ShowTime – ABS-CBN – a talent television show – I had the wonderful experience of watching the filming and also taking part on stage at the beginning for their introduction.
  • Pet Cafe’s
  • There is a lot of places for your visit, as well as beautiful sights along the way.

Shopping Malls & Markets

I’ve never seen so many markets and shopping malls during a holiday before and I never even knew this was possible, not to mention how big they are. During my stay in the Philippines, I only really visited the malls in Manila… I say only, but I still remember visiting many of them. They have a lot of SM’s which I think actually stands for Super Market, but please don’t quote me on that. Also, I visited a smaller mall called Robinson’s which I remember a lot because I bought some new flip flops (smart shoes) and a Mickey Mouse t-shirt. In the malls, you can find a range of shops, such as boutiques, supermarkets, fashion outlets, restaurants, coffee shops, movie theatres, internet cafe’s, and basically everything that you could possibly need all in one place. I could have literally spent a whole day in a mall, there’s just loads to do.

I won’t forget to mention all of the street foods and markets which you can find everywhere, even on the street LOL. I remember, when we were there, we were stuck in traffic for a couple of hours and as we were sooooooooo hot and hungry, we managed to get out of the car to get water and food at one of the street markets and still make it back into the car in time. Honestly, you’ll be so surprised. I just found it absolutely mesmerising. I think it is mainly due to the fact of how different it is in comparison to the UK.

Weather & Climate

I know what you’re thinking and yes this is so obvious! But, the WEATHER is definitely up there in my top 10 reasons why you should travel to the Philippines. It is so nice to go somewhere that is really hot, even when there is no sun! Of course, it was very humid and yes as soon as I stepped outside of the apartment, I was boiling and sweating but it was a great experience. I would recommend putting on sun cream/lotion regardless as it is a really good way to not burn, but also to keep your skin moisturised. I had many occasions where I had dry skin which wasn’t always from burning, but because my skin got a bit dried out.

Experience

One of the things that I really loved about going to the Philippines is the whole experience of it all. It is very eye-opening and does make you feel either really appreciated or give you an awareness of what is going on in the world. I found it so fascinating being able to experience what it is like living in the Philippines as well as learning a lot about their culture. It is actually amazing how different it is to the UK which is why I will never forget my visit. I am going to be completely honest, it was a little overwhelming.

I want to start documenting all of my travels and all of the great things that I am fortunate enough to experience. I really want to travel to a few places this year, so please give me some recommendations.

5 Ways You Can Become A Tourist In Your Hometown.

Have you ever thought about becoming a tourist in your own hometown? – Well with these tips you can be a tourist in any hometown.

49457117_271041250232678_6058253560888426496_n

A couple of weeks ago, I never thought of the idea of becoming a tourist in my own hometown. To be a tourist, it does not mean that you have to travel somewhere within the same country or even to somewhere abroad. A tourist is someone who is visiting a particular place and/or town for their own pleasure. If you are an adventurous person, like me, then you can easily become a tourist in your own hometown.

Photograph/Document Everything

It is very important for a tourist to record (photograph) and/or document (journal) everything, including all of the activities that they do. It doesn’t matter what equipment you use, whether if that is a professional camera, phone or tablet. What’s important is that you capture every unique moment and treasure it for a lifetime. Being a freelance photographer, I can confirm that by doing this people within that place/city will instantly believe that you are a tourist. I love taking photographs of absolutely everything and even if I am just having a little photoshoot, people have still assumed that I am a tourist and have offered to take photographs of me in front of buildings, so this DEFINITELY WORKS!

Learn About The History

Speaking for myself, I can hold my hands up and admit that even I do not know about my hometowns history. Don’t get me wrong, I know a couple things, but in general I don’t have a great deal of knowledge. I think that it is important for everyone to know the history about their hometowns. A majority of places/city’s will have information at all of their tourist attractions or even a local museum.  Fortunately, my hometown is filled with lots of tourists attractions and is well-known for their beautiful buildings/statues that is accompanied with a museum.

Try Out A B&B or Hotel

Ok, so this one is a little bit out there. But, I think that to really become a tourist in your own hometown you should definitely try out and/or review some of the B&B’s and hotels. Not only are you exploring your own hometown, but you are also having the opportunity to review the accommodation that your  hometown offers. You would be able to give the best recommendations and use your knowledge to pass on to others who are visiting your hometown.

Do Something New

Even if you think you have been to all the tourist attractions and you know enough about your hometown… there is always more! My hometown is filled of little independent shops, including restaurants and little coffee shops. You should visit lots of places, take photographs and learn something new. Going the extra mile to find out about something that not a lot of people would know is definitely a way to be recognised as a tourist. I have recently been looking and trying out the independent shops in my hometown, instead of the well-known retail stores.

Take Something Memorable Back With You

NOT JUST PHOTOGRAPHS!!!! There is actually a lot that you can take back with you. Whenever I go away on holiday, I would always bring back something as a memory from that particular holiday. It can be anything, such as a souvenir, ceramic bowls or mugs, sea shells, tickets etc. I think that it is important to keep anything that reminds you of that visit.

These are just some of my tips on how you can be a tourist in your hometown. As someone who loves to travel, I think it is a great way to explore the world without having to pay for a whole holiday. You should definitely explore and check out your own hometown.
