5 Days In Barcelona.

I have had the most incredible 5 days in Barcelona (Monday to Friday). I thought it would be good for me to explain what we did in those 5 days and the amazing things that I captured. I went to Barcelona with a group of friends. There was 5 of us in total. If you’re planning on going to Barcelona and you would like some advice on anything at all, please just let me know and I will try my best to point you in the right direction.

We travelled to Barcelona by plane with Norwegian air on Monday 29th July at 06:50am. I would definitely recommend travelling to Barcelona around this time as it gives you the whole day to settle in and to explore bits of it without wasting a whole day travelling. We arrived in Barcelona at 09:50am (as the time difference is 1-hour in front). This post is going to be structured in a similar way to a diary. I will indicate what we did each day, and I will try to demonstrate this with a range of photographs.

The weather was absolutely beautiful, if not too beautiful on some days hitting 32 degrees. It is very important to keep loading on sun cream to ensure your skin does not burn and that it is hydrated throughout the day. I was lucky enough to receive two different types of sun cream from the Green People (a blog post will be published shortly) to keep my skin hydrated and lowered the risk of getting burnt. I would definitely use this brand again as I did not burn at all. The only part of my body that went slightly red was my shoulders purely because on the first day I forgot to use sun cream.

Day 1: Monday 29th July 2019

At 09:50am we arrived at Barcelona airport. There was a range of transport that we could have taken to get us to our apartment including, a taxi, metro, or a bus. As we had a lot of time ahead of us, we decided to get on the AEROBUS which was around 5 stops in total. We looked on Google Maps and what bus stop was the best one for us. I believe it was called Espanya or something like that. This bus ride took approximately 15 minutes. It was then only a small walk to our apartment. We stayed at Aparthotel BCN Monjuric (a blog post will be published shortly) and it was absolutely perfect. Once we had checked in around 12:00pm, we decided to take a little walk until we came across the Arena, which is simply just a shopping mall. We had a small bite to eat, done some shopping, and headed to the famous street La Rambla. We didn’t stay out too long, just went for a walk, had a couple of drinks, and got the metro back to the apartment as it was only two stops away.

Day 2: Tuesday 30th July 2019

This was one of my favourite days, but not so much everyone else’s. The original plan was to just spend the day at the beach. We all decided that it would be a good idea to take a walk to the beach and sightsee at the same time. The walk to the beach is around 1-hour. We decided to take a route that would stop us off at popular spots, including the massive fountain and Parc de Montjuic. The route was absolutely beautiful, and I am so glad that we did actually do this because if we had gone to the beach straight away, we would never have seen all of these incredible views. 4-hours later once we had to the beach, we went to McDonald’s and then sat on the beach for around an hour before we went back to the apartment and just played some games and quizzed with one another.

Day 3: Wednesday 31st July 2019

This day was quite a chilled day. We stayed in the apartment until around 1pm before we decided to go to La Rambla to go to a couple of shops, have some lunch, and go to The Big Fun Museum. I LOVED the museum so much. It was something that we needed to do as a group. We all LOVED the ball pit, probably a bit too much, but it was a lot of fun. Afterwards, we headed towards Hard Rock Café and found the Barcelona Cathedral. I thoroughly enjoyed this day as it wasn’t actually planned out. We just went for a casual stroll and came across things that we liked and just explored. After this, we just went back to the apartment and spent the evening in the rooftop pool.

Day 4: Thursday 1st August 2019

Thursday was again a very chilled day. Myself, Kevin, and Charlie took a morning stroll playing Pokémon Go and then we went to Sagrada Familia. This was definitely the highlight of the whole holiday. It was just absolutely stunning, and I think the photographs speak for themselves. After this, we had some lunch and went for a little stroll down La Rambla. We went back to the apartment a little early today around 4pm as we wanted to charge up our phones for the evening. We went back to Parc de Montjuic and watch a street dance performance followed by The Magic Fountain show which is just insane. If you ever go to Barcelona, you MUST see The Magic Fountain at night. It is an hour-long FREE show and is just so wonderful.

Day 5: Friday 2nd August 2019

This was the day to say goodbye to Barcelona. Our flight wasn’t until 5pm, so we spent half of the day in the apartment, went for lunch and took another walk down La Rambla until we had to catch the metro to the airport. We flew back to Gatwick with Vueling Air.

I hope you enjoyed this little post. I didn’t want to bombard you with too much information and realised that the photographs probably speak for themselves anyway.
